Kaunas International Film Festival has just joined the European network of film associations NISI MASA and is organizing a pilot event for Nisimazine workshop to be held at the Kaunas International Film Festival in 2012. During the festival a group of 10 participants from Europe and Lithuania will be exploring specifics of film journalism together with famous film critic Boyd van Hoeij, publishing his rewiews in Variety, International Film Guide, Wink and other press for cinema.

The workshop will open with an introductionary lecture to film reviewing and exemplary film reviews. Later the workshop will cover topics like specifics of reviews and different ways of reading them, participants will try to figure out ways of adjusting texts to different readership and publishing sources. During the practical part, young film critics will accomplish their analytical skills while watching and approaching films together with Boyd van Hoeij. Participants will write on Kaunas International Film Festival programme while suggesting different point of view and style in their reviews, which will be published online on the official Nisimazine website and special Kaunas IFF blog.

September 29 – an open introductionary lecture on film criticism.

September 30th – an open session for a deep analysis of one feature film.

September 30th – October 3rd - Boyd van Hoeij workshop for selected participants.
