At the end of the 19th century, more and more Europeans immigrated to the United States, looking for a better life. The same path is chosen by three Transylvanians - the Brad brothers. The middle brother, Ion, is the first to arrive in America. When he loses his connection with the people at home, his two other brothers go to America looking for him and when they find him, all three want to go back to Romania; but along the way, they encounter various adventures. “The Actress, The Dollars and the Transylvanians” was made in 1979 as the second part of a Transylvanian trilogy by the same director. The trilogy symbolizes a new freedom in cinema’s subject matter and marks the emergence of a new Western genre in Romanian film production.
