In the 90s, he made documentaries, experimental films and fiction as a videomaker.

Over the last decade, his short films “The Little Cotton Girl” (A Menina do Algodão, 2003), “Green Vinyl” (Vinil Verde, 2004), “Eletrodoméstica” (2005), “Friday Night Saturday Morning” (Noite de Sexta Manhã de Sábado, 2006) and ”Cold Tropics” (Recife Frio, 2009) have won over 100 awards in Brazil and abroad, with selections in Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Czech Republic), Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (Argentina), Rotterdam International Film Festival (Netherlands), Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (France) and Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes International Film Festival (France) among others.
